A photographer friend and fellow veteran came out to visit me at the cabin. He asked about a place nearby to take some photos in a natural setting. I live in Barrington NH so Stonehouse Pond was the first place to come to mind. A few minutes later we were pulling into the parking area.
On a crisp November morning Bryant and I walked out to Stonehouse and had the
place to ourselves. I was reminded of when we were teenagers. Bryant and I
would take off on hiking and camping adventures as often as we could during our
summers. As soon as we graduated high school, Bryant decided joining the USMC
was a worthy adventure indeed. Years went by before we even spoke again.

Living only ten minutes away I’ve been a frequent visitor for the past two years. I hadn’t seen Bryant in almost a year; it was nice to see him working behind the lens calm and completely in his element. We even managed to get a couple laughs in there too.
Natural places like Stonehouse Pond have a calming effect on me. The quiet open space of the cliff-side pond enclosed by secondary growth provides a sanctuary for the thoughtful, adventure for the daring, and relaxation for all.

Love this! Thanks for the kind words my friend. Hope to be with you on your future adventures! ~B. Combs
